استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، صباح اليوم 30 أغسطس 2026، بمطار معيتيقة الدولي، معالي السيد أسعد حسن الشيباني، وزير الخارجية والمغتربين بالجمهورية العربية السورية، والوفد المرافق له، وذلك في مستهل زيارة رسمية إلى دولة ليبيا تهدف إلى تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية وتطوير مجالات التعاون المشترك بين البلدين.
وعقد الجانبان مباحثات بمقر وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي بالعاصمة طرابلس، تناولت عددا من الملفات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وسبل دفع العلاقات الليبية السورية، وتعزيز التنسيق والتشاور بين البلدين، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة للشعبين الشقيقين.
كما بحث الجانبان الإجراءات المتعلقة بإعادة افتتاح سفارة الجمهورية العربية السورية في العاصمة طرابلس، بما يسهم في تعزيز التواصل الدبلوماسي بين البلدين، وتسهيل متابعة شؤون المواطنين، وتطوير أوجه التعاون الثنائي.
وتطرقت المباحثات إلى استكمال الإجراءات المتعلقة بتفعيل اللجنة العليا الليبية السورية المشتركة، والتوقيع على الاتفاقية المنظمة لأعمالها، بما من شأنه فتح آفاق أوسع للتعاون بين البلدين في المجالات الاقتصادية والتنموية وغيرها من المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
وتأتي زيارة وزير الخارجية والمغتربين السوري إلى ليبيا في إطار الحرص المشترك على تعزيز العلاقات التاريخية والأخوية التي تجمع البلدين، والارتقاء بمستوى التعاون والتنسيق الثنائي، بما يحقق تطلعات ليبيا وسوريا والشعبين الشقيقين.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received this morning, 30 August 2026, at Mitiga International Airport, His Excellency Mr. Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, and his accompanying delegation, at the outset of an official visit to the State of Libya aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and developing areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides subsequently held talks at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in the capital Tripoli, during which they discussed a number of issues of common interest, ways to advance Libyan-Syrian relations, and means of strengthening coordination and consultation between the two countries in a manner that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
The two sides also discussed procedures for the reopening of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Tripoli, which would contribute to enhancing diplomatic communication between the two countries, facilitating the provision of consular services to citizens, and further developing bilateral cooperation.
The talks also addressed the completion of procedures to activate the Libyan-Syrian Joint Higher Committee and the signing of the agreement regulating its work, which would open broader prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the economic, development, and other areas of common interest.
The visit of the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates to Libya reflects the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening the historic and fraternal ties between Libya and Syria, and to elevating the level of bilateral cooperation and coordination in a manner that meets the aspirations of Libya, Syria, and their two brotherly peoples.
