حضر معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، رفقة معالي السيد أسعد الشيباني، وزير الخارجية والمغتربين في الجمهورية العربية السورية، مساء اليوم الأحد الموافق 2026.08.30، مراسم افتتاح مقر سفارة الجمهورية العربية السورية في طرابلس، بحضور السيد سمير الشلبي، القائم بأعمال السفارة السورية، وعدد من ممثلي وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي بحكومة الوحدة الوطنية.
وفي كلمة له بالمناسبة، جدد الباعور ترحيبه بالوزير الشيباني والوفد المرافق له، مؤكداً أن افتتاح مقر السفارة السورية في طرابلس يمثل مناسبة مهمة لاستعراض أوجه التعاون المشترك، ومواصلة اللقاءات بين الجانبين الليبي والسوري لبحث سبل دعم وتطوير آليات التعاون الثنائي بين البلدين.
وأشار الباعور إلى أن اللجنة العليا الليبية السورية المشتركة تعد من أكثر آليات التعاون فاعلية بين البلدين، موضحاً أن اللجنة كانت تعقد اجتماعاتها بصورة دورية، وأسفرت أعمالها عن توقيع عدد من الاتفاقيات ومذكرات التفاهم.
وأكد أهمية دراسة إمكانية استئناف اجتماعات اللجنة العليا الليبية السورية المشتركة بشكل دوري، بما يسهم في بحث واستكشاف فرص جديدة للتعاون الثنائي في مختلف المجالات الاقتصادية والتنموية والخدمية.
وفي سياق متصل، جدد الباعور التأكيد على حرص دولة ليبيا الدائم على دعم أمن واستقلال الجمهورية العربية السورية وسيادتها الكاملة على أراضيها، معرباً عن تضامن ليبيا مع الشعب السوري الشقيق في مواجهة الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية، ورفضها للخروقات الإسرائيلية، واعتبارها تهديداً للأمن الإقليمي والدولي.
وأكد الباعور وقوف ليبيا إلى جانب سوريا في مساعيها لبناء دولة حديثة وتحقيق الرخاء والتقدم، معرباً عن ثقته بقدرة الشعب السوري، بما يمتلكه من إمكانات ومقومات حضارية وعلمية، على تجاوز المحن والصعاب وبناء دولة قوية ومتماسكة.
وتأتي مراسم افتتاح السفارة السورية في طرابلس في إطار تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين ليبيا وسوريا، ودعم مسارات التعاون المشترك، بما يخدم المصالح المتبادلة للبلدين والشعبين الشقيقين.
His Excellency Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, accompanied, this evening, Sunday, August 30, 2026، His Excellency Mr. Asaad Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, at the opening ceremony of the premises of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Tripoli. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Samir Al-Shalabi, Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy, along with a number of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity.
In his remarks on the occasion, El-Baour renewed his welcome to Minister Al-Shaibani and the accompanying delegation, stressing that the opening of the Syrian Embassy premises in Tripoli represents an important opportunity to review areas of joint cooperation and continue consultations between the Libyan and Syrian sides to explore ways to support and develop bilateral cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.
El-Baour noted that the Libyan-Syrian Joint Higher Committee is one of the most effective mechanisms for cooperation between the two countries. He explained that the committee had held its meetings regularly, resulting in the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding.
He underscored the importance of considering the resumption of regular meetings of the Libyan-Syrian Joint Higher Committee, which would contribute to identifying and exploring new opportunities for bilateral cooperation across various economic, development, and service sectors.
In this context, El-Baour reaffirmed Libya’s steadfast commitment to supporting the security and independence of the Syrian Arab Republic and its full sovereignty over its territory. He also expressed Libya’s solidarity with the Syrian people in the face of Israeli attacks, rejecting Israeli violations and considering them a threat to regional and international security.
El-Baour affirmed Libya’s support for Syria in its efforts to build a modern state and achieve prosperity and progress, expressing his confidence in the Syrian people’s ability, drawing on their capabilities and rich civilizational and scientific resources, to overcome hardships and challenges and build a strong and cohesive state.
The opening ceremony of the Syrian Embassy in Tripoli comes as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Libya and Syria and advance avenues of joint cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
