The Minister of Foreign Affairs signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States Institute of Peace

Today, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mrs. Najla Al-Manqoush, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States Institute of Peace, which is an independent American “USIP” institution authorized by the US Congress and based in Washington.

The Memorandum of Understanding ,signed between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Director of North Africa Programs and the Regional Hub, Mr. “Eli Abu Aoun” at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli, stipulated the implementation of the Institute’s programs that support conflict resolution and peace and stability building in Libya, which is to be achieved by cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The Memorandum includes the governing principles between the Ministry and the Institute , supporting transparency, and interest in achieving the most positive impact for the Libyan people through joint initiatives between the two parties.

It also indicates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is responsible for implementing the policies, plans, and programs in the scope of the state’s foreign affairs, according to the national objectives within the framework of the general policy of the State of Libya.
