(CEN-SAD) and restore its regional role, H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held talks on Sunday, October 4, 2026, on the sidelines of his participation in the El Alamein Africa Forum with H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and H.E. Mr. Ahmed Kougouri, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad of the Republic of Chad.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The talks focused on ways to reactivate CEN-SAD institutions and strengthen its role in serving the countries and peoples of the region, following the reactivation of its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation among the three countries in confronting common security challenges, particularly combating terrorism, transnational organized crime, and irregular migration, as well as supporting capacity-building for member states.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The ministers agreed to work towards convening a CEN-SAD ministerial meeting at the earliest opportunity, paving the way for the resumption of its institutional activities and preparations for a summit of Heads of State and Government.
