Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Tuesday, 29 September 2026, with the delegation of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia participating in the preparatory expert meetings for the second session of the Libyan-Ethiopian Joint Ministerial Committee, headed by Ambassador Zerihun Abebe Yegzaw, Director General for African Affairs at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry\u2019s headquarters.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Ashraf Al-Tayeb, Director of the International Cooperation Department; Mr. Taher Hussein, Director of the General Protocol Department; Mr. Mahmoud Al-Zurqani, Director of the Consular Affairs Department; and Mr. MohamedOmar El-Hamdi, Director of the Expatriates Affairs Department.<\/p>\n

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the State of Libya and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, as well as ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields, in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.<\/p>\n

The two sides also discussed the outcomes of the preparatory expert meetings for the second session of the Joint Ministerial Committee and followed up on the items on its agenda, while emphasizing the importance of completing the necessary arrangements for convening the ministerial session in a manner that contributes to advancing bilateral cooperation and broadening its prospects.<\/p>\n

Both sides commended the level of relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and consultations, as well as exchanging visits and expertise, in a way that strengthens Libyan-Ethiopian cooperation in areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n
