Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Monday, 3 August 2026, at the Ministry&#8217;s headquarters, H.E. Mr. G\u00fcven Bege\u00e7, Ambassador of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye to the State of Libya.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the State of Libya and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye and explored ways to further strengthen and expand cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries and peoples. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The discussions also addressed the latest political developments in Libya and the ongoing efforts to advance the political process in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the Libyan people. Both sides underscored the importance of continuing to support initiatives aimed at enhancing security and stability, preserving Libya&#8217;s unity and sovereignty, and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable development and lasting stability.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">H.E. Mr. El- Taher El-Baour also reviewed the outcomes of Libya&#8217;s participation in the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa on 28\u201329 July 2026, during which the Agreement on Libya&#8217;s Hosting of the Upcoming Africa\u2013T\u00fcrkiye Summit was signed. He emphasized that this milestone reflects the growing confidence enjoyed by Libya at both the African and international levels and reaffirms the country&#8217;s renewed and active role in regional forums.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">H.E. further noted that hosting the Summit represents an important milestone in strengthening the strategic partnership between the African continent and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye and expanding opportunities for cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, infrastructure, and development.
