His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Thursday, 9 July 2026, His Excellency Mr. Ma Xiuliang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Libya, in the presence of Mr. Al-Hassan Mohammed Bin Rabha, Director of the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs.<\/p>\n

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and further advance the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, investment, infrastructure, and energy. The two sides also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, education, healthcare, and technology, while encouraging Chinese companies to resume their projects and explore new investment opportunities in Libya.<\/p>\n

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation in international forums in support of security, stability, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

For his part, H.E. Ambassador Ma Xiuliang expressed his country’s pride in its longstanding historical ties with Libya, reaffirming China’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting Libya’s development efforts, reflecting the strength of the friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.<\/p>\n
