During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in cooperation between the State of Libya and the United Nations system, and discussed ways to strengthen coordination in the humanitarian and development fields in support of the Government of National Unity’s efforts to consolidate stability and achieve sustainable development across the country.<\/p>\n

The two sides also explored prospects for further enhancing the partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the United Nations system, exchanging views on a number of issues of mutual interest. They emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination and cooperation in support of national priorities and improving the effectiveness of UN programmes and initiatives implemented in Libya.<\/p>\n

His Excellency Mr. El-Baour reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening constructive cooperation with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), as well as with all UN agencies, funds, and programmes, in a manner that serves shared interests and contributes to sustainable development and enhanced stability in Libya.<\/p>\n

For her part, Ms. Ulrika Richardson expressed her appreciation for the level of cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reaffirming the United Nations’ commitment to continuing its support for Libya and working in partnership with national institutions to achieve shared objectives and meet the aspirations of the Libyan people for development and stability.<\/p>\n
