El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Thursday, 2 July 2026, Mr. Mohamed Fayadi, Representative of the United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (UNICEF) in Libya. The meeting was attended by Mr. Sufian Belkhair, Director of the Department of International Organizations, and Mr. Mohamed Traina, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Department.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the State of Libya and UNICEF and explored opportunities to expand their partnership in priority areas, particularly child protection, support for the education and health sectors, the strengthening of social protection programmes, and national capacity-building, in line with Libya&#8217;s national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The two sides also reviewed UNICEF&#8217;s ongoing programmes and projects in Libya, assessed the progress achieved in implementing joint initiatives, and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the coming period in a manner that enhances the effectiveness and sustainability of humanitarian and development programmes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The meeting also addressed the nomination of the new UNICEF Representative to Libya.
