His Excellency Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received this morning, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, His Excellency Mr. Fran\u00e7ois Dumont, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Libya, accompanied by the Belgian Military Attach\u00e9, Rudy Warrens.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abu Baker Al-Tawil, Director of the European Affairs Department, and Mr. Mustafa Aburkhis, Head of the Western Affairs Section within the department.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held on the occasion of the ambassador\u2019s completion of his diplomatic mission in Libya, as he is scheduled to depart at the end of July. The Belgian ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the support and assistance extended to him throughout his tenure as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Libya.<\/p>\n

The ambassador reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. He also referred to the high-level economic delegation accompanying him, which is scheduled to visit the Free Zone in the city of Misrata on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, to hold a number of meetings with officials of the Free Zone.<\/p>\n

For his part, Mr. El-Taher El-Baour conveyed his best wishes to the ambassador for success in his future assignments upon the completion of his service as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Libya. He also thanked him for his sincere efforts in promoting and strengthening relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
