On Monday June 8, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation held a reception in Tripoli to celebrate Africa Day, attended by members of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to the State of Libya.<\/p>\n

In his speech, His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, emphasized Libya\u2019s pride in its African identity and its commitment to supporting continental integration, unity, and development, highlighting the country\u2019s historical role in supporting the African Union and hosting several African institutions and regional organizations.<\/p>\n

El-Baour also stressed Libya\u2019s dedication to promoting peace, security, and economic cooperation across Africa by supporting continental institutions and development initiatives, notably the African Investment Bank.<\/p>\n

He noted that current challenges require enhanced African collaboration and strengthened coordination mechanisms to achieve sustainable development and a stronger African presence on the international stage.<\/p>\n
