His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received Today, Sunday, 07 June 2026, at the Ministry\u2019s headquarters His Excellency Mr. Ali Onanir, Director General of the Department of North and East African Affairs at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Mr. K\u00f6ven Bekta\u015f, Ambassador of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye to Libya, along with their accompanying delegation.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abubaker Ibrahim Al-Tawil, Director of the European Affairs Department, and Mr. Amer Khalifa Abridan, Head of the Central-West Asia Section at the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed strengthening the historically deep-rooted and fraternal relations between the State of Libya and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, as well as ways to develop joint cooperation and elevate the horizons of partnership in various political and economic fields, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly countries.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, both sides reviewed updates on the political process in Libya, including discussions on the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and the ongoing dialogue tracks. The Turkish side reaffirmed its supportive and firm position on Libya\u2019s unity and stability, fully endorsing whatever the Libyans themselves choose and decide in the electoral preparation process without any external interference.<\/p>\n

The meeting also addressed files on economic and developmental cooperation, the continued role of Turkish companies in rebuilding infrastructure, and praised the positive outcomes of the Turkish Petroleum Company in the oil exploration sector. Additionally, the discussions covered security and military coordination files, as well as the exchange of administrative and technical expertise in addressing the issue of irregular migration.<\/p>\n

The meeting further touched upon the diplomatic and logistical arrangements underway for Libya to host the (Turkish-African Partnership Summit) scheduled for the end of this year.<\/p>\n

This meeting reflects the two countries\u2019 commitment to continuing close consultations and coordinating positions in regional and international forums, contributing to the enhancement of security, stability, and development in the region.<\/p>\n
