His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at the Ministry\u2019s headquarters, with His Excellency Mr. Abdul Latif Al-Taher, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation with the international community and with brotherly and friendly countries in the fields of agriculture and livestock, at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, in addition to enhancing coordination with relevant international organizations, in line with the priorities of the Libyan state aimed at developing the agricultural sector and supporting livestock resources.<\/p>\n

The meeting also addressed the importance of expanding cooperation in the areas of training and capacity-building, scientific and academic cooperation, and the exchange of expertise in the field of animal health, in a manner that contributes to improving the efficiency of national personnel and strengthening technical and institutional capacities.<\/p>\n

The two sides further discussed prospects and mechanisms for cooperation with international institutions and organizations in the areas of agricultural quarantine and prevention, plant protection, and limiting the spread of agricultural pests and diseases, in order to safeguard the agricultural sector and reduce risks threatening crop production.<\/p>\n

The meeting underscored the importance of developing working mechanisms and enhancing preparedness levels in line with the requirements of the current phase, thereby contributing to strengthening the agricultural prevention and quarantine system and supporting the state\u2019s efforts to achieve food security and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
