التقى معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الأحد الموافق 2026.10.11، معالي السيد محمد رحمان سواراي، وزير خارجية جمهورية سيراليون ومنسق لجنة العشرة الإفريقية المعنية بإصلاح مجلس الأمن الدولي، وذلك قبيل انطلاق أعمال الاجتماع الوزاري الرابع عشر للمجموعة، الذي تستضيفه العاصمة طرابلس، بحضور اللقاء السيد علاء الدين التاجوري، مدير إدارة الشؤون الإفريقية.

تناول اللقاء سبل تعزيز التعاون بين ليبيا والدول الإفريقية، وتكثيف التشاور والتنسيق بشأن القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وفي مقدمتها جهود إصلاح مجلس الأمن الدولي، بما يضمن تعزيز التمثيل الإفريقي داخل منظومة الأمم المتحدة، إلى جانب بحث آليات توحيد المواقف الإفريقية وتنسيق التحركات الدبلوماسية لدعم المطالب المشتركة للقارة.

ويأتي اللقاء في إطار تعزيز التنسيق بين الدول الأعضاء وتوحيد الرؤى بشأن إصلاح مجلس الأمن، ودفع المفاوضات الدولية نحو تحقيق تمثيل إفريقي عادل يتناسب مع مكانة القارة ودورها في قضايا السلم والأمن الدوليين.

His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Sunday, October 11, 2026, with His Excellency Mr. Mohamed R. Swaray, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Coordinator of the African Committee of Ten (C10) on United Nations Security Council Reform. The meeting took place ahead of the opening of the Committee’s 14th Ministerial Meeting, hosted by the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and was attended by Mr. Alaa Al-Tajouri, Director of the Department of African Affairs.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between Libya and African countries and intensify consultations and coordination on issues of mutual interest, particularly efforts to reform the United Nations Security Council. Discussions focused on ensuring enhanced African representation within the United Nations system, as well as exploring mechanisms to unify African positions and coordinate diplomatic efforts in support of the continent’s common demands.

The meeting comes within the framework of strengthening coordination among member states and harmonizing their positions on Security Council reform, with a view to advancing international negotiations towards achieving fair African representation that reflects the continent’s standing and its role in matters of international peace and security.
