في إطار التشاور والتنسيق بين ليبيا ومصر وتشاد لإعادة تنشيط تجمع دول الساحل والصحراء واستعادة دوره الإقليمي، بحث معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، الأحد 2026.10.04، على هامش مشاركته في أعمال منتدى العلمين أفريقيا، مع معالي الدكتور بدر عبد العاطي، وزير الخارجية والهجرة وشؤون المصريين بالخارج بجمهورية مصر العربية، ومعالي السيد أحمد كوقوري، وزير الشؤون الخارجية والتكامل الأفريقي والتشاديين في الخارج، سبل تفعيل مؤسسات التجمع وتعزيز دوره في خدمة دول وشعوب المنطقة، عقب إعادة تفعيل مقره في العاصمة طرابلس.
وتناول اللقاء تعزيز التعاون بين الدول الثلاث في مواجهة التحديات الأمنية، وفي مقدمتها مكافحة الإرهاب والجريمة المنظمة العابرة للحدود والهجرة غير النظامية، إلى جانب دعم بناء القدرات الأمنية للدول الأعضاء.
واتفق الوزراء على الدفع نحو عقد اجتماع وزاري للتجمع في أقرب فرصة، تمهيداً لاستئناف عمل مؤسساته والتحضير لعقد قمة على مستوى رؤساء الدول والحكومات، مع التأكيد على مواصلة التنسيق بشأن القضايا السياسية والأمنية والتنموية في منطقة الساحل والصحراء.
As part of consultations and coordination between Libya, Egypt, and Chad to revitalize the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) and restore its regional role, H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held talks on Sunday, October 4, 2026, on the sidelines of his participation in the El Alamein Africa Forum with H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and H.E. Mr. Ahmed Kougouri, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad of the Republic of Chad.
The talks focused on ways to reactivate CEN-SAD institutions and strengthen its role in serving the countries and peoples of the region, following the reactivation of its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation among the three countries in confronting common security challenges, particularly combating terrorism, transnational organized crime, and irregular migration, as well as supporting capacity-building for member states.
The ministers agreed to work towards convening a CEN-SAD ministerial meeting at the earliest opportunity, paving the way for the resumption of its institutional activities and preparations for a summit of Heads of State and Government. They also reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination on political, security, and development issues in the Sahel and Sahara region.
