التقى معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الاربعاء الموافق 23 سبتمبر 2026، معالي السيد مسعد بولس، كبير مستشاري الرئيس الأمريكي للشؤون العربية والإفريقية، وذلك على هامش أعمال الدورة الحادية والثمانين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة المنعقدة في نيويورك.
بحث اللقاء مستجدات الأوضاع السياسية في ليبيا، والجهود المبذولة لدفع المسار السياسي وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار، إلى جانب أهمية توحيد مؤسسات الدولة ودعم الجهود الهادفة إلى التوصل إلى تسوية سياسية شاملة ومستدامة، بما يلبي تطلعات الشعب الليبي.
كما تناول الجانبان سبل تعزيز العلاقات الليبية–الأمريكية وتوسيع آفاق التعاون الثنائي، لا سيما في المجالات الاقتصادية والتنموية، وتشجيع الاستثمارات وتعزيز التعاون في قطاع الطاقة، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة للبلدين.
وتبادل الجانبان وجهات النظر بشأن عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، مؤكدين أهمية استمرار التشاور والتنسيق بين ليبيا والولايات المتحدة، ودعم الجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار في ليبيا والمنطقة.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Wednesday, 23 September 2026, with H.E. Mr. Massad Boulos, U.S. President’s Senior Adviser for Arab and African Affairs, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting addressed developments in Libya’s political situation and efforts to advance the political process and strengthen security and stability. The two sides also discussed the importance of unifying state institutions and supporting efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people.
The two sides further discussed ways to strengthen Libyan–American relations and expand prospects for bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and development fields, encouraging investment, and enhancing cooperation in the energy sector, in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries.
The two sides exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, emphasizing the importance of continued consultation and coordination between Libya and the United States, and supporting efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in Libya and the region.
