التقى معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الثلاثاء الموافق 22 سبتمبر 2026، معالي السيد محمود علي يوسف، رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي، وذلك على هامش أعمال الدورة الحادية والثمانين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة المنعقدة في نيويورك.
بحث الجانبان سبل تعزيز علاقات التعاون والتنسيق بين دولة ليبيا والاتحاد الأفريقي، وتطوير آليات التشاور المشترك بما يعزز حضور ليبيا ودورها في منظومة العمل الأفريق، وتطرقا إلى عملية الترتيبات المتعلقة باستضافة ليبيا لاجتماع وزراء خارجية الدول الاعضاء بلجنة العشرة (C10) المعنية بعملية اصلاح مجلس الامن، الذي سيعقد بطرابلس يومي 10 و 11 أكتوبر القادم.
كما تناول الجانبان سير التحضيرات الجارية لاستضافة ليبيا لاجتماع دول الساحل والصحراء (س.ص) و كذلك القمة الأفريقية التركية المقرر عقدها في ديسمبر من هذا العام.
وتناول اللقاء أيضاً مستجدات الأوضاع السياسية والأمنية في ليبيا والقارة الأفريقية، والجهود المبذولة لتعزيز السلم والأمن والاستقرار، إلى جانب أهمية دعم الحلول الأفريقية للتحديات التي تواجه القارة، وتعزيز التعاون في مجالات التنمية والهجرة ومكافحة الإرهاب والجريمة المنظمة.
وفي هذا السياق، ناقش الجانبان دور الاتحاد الأفريقي في دعم المسار السياسي وجهود تحقيق الاستقرار في ليبيا، وأهمية مواصلة التنسيق بين السلطات الليبية ومفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي بما يسهم في الدفع بالعملية السياسية، ويدعم تطلعات الشعب الليبي نحو الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية.
وأكد الجانبان أهمية استمرار التشاور والتنسيق في القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وتعزيز التعاون في إطار الاتحاد الأفريقي والمحافل متعددة الأطراف، بما يدعم العمل الأفريقي المشترك ويسهم في تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية في القارة.
H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Tuesday, 22 September 2026, with H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the State of Libya and the African Union, and to develop mechanisms for joint consultation in a manner that enhances Libya’s presence and role within the African institutional framework. They also discussed arrangements related to Libya’s hosting of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Committee of Ten (C10) on the Reform of the United Nations Security Council, scheduled to take place in Tripoli on 10 and 11 October.
The two sides also discussed ongoing preparations for Libya to host the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) meeting, as well as the Africa–Türkiye Summit, scheduled to be held in December this year.
The meeting also addressed the latest political and security developments in Libya and across the African continent, efforts to promote peace, security, and stability, and the importance of supporting African solutions to the challenges facing the continent, while strengthening cooperation in the areas of development, migration, counterterrorism, and combating organized crime.
In this context, the two sides discussed the role of the African Union in supporting the political process and efforts to achieve stability in Libya, as well as the importance of continuing coordination between the Libyan authorities and the African Union Commission in a manner that contributes to advancing the political process and supports the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, stability, and development.
The two sides underscored the importance of continued consultation and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and strengthening cooperation within the framework of the African Union and multilateral forums, in a manner that supports joint African action and contributes to achieving security, stability, and development across the continent.
