التقى معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الثلاثاء 22 سبتمبر 2026، السيدة إيمي إي. بوب، المديرة العامة للمنظمة الدولية للهجرة (IOM)، على هامش أعمال الدورة الحادية والثمانين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في نيويورك.
بحث اللقاء تعزيز التعاون بين دولة ليبيا والمنظمة في ملف الهجرة، ودعم الجهود الرامية إلى مواجهة الهجرة غير النظامية ومعالجة أسبابها في بلدان المنشأ، إلى جانب دعم ليبيا باعتبارها دولة عبور وتعزيز قدراتها في التعامل مع تدفقات الهجرة.
كما ناقش الجانبان سبل دعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى المساعدة في العودة الطوعية للمهاجرين، وأكدا أهمية استمرار التنسيق وتطوير البرامج والمشروعات المشتركة في هذا المجال.
H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Tuesday, 22 September 2026, with Ms. Amy E. Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation between the State of Libya and the Organization on migration-related issues, supporting efforts to address irregular migration and tackle its root causes in countries of origin, as well as supporting Libya as a country of transit and enhancing its capacity to manage migration flows.
The two sides also discussed ways to support national efforts aimed at facilitating the voluntary return of migrants, and underscored the importance of continued coordination and the development of joint programs and projects in this area.
