التقى معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الاثنين 21 سبتمبر 2026، معالي السيدة إيلينا فالتونين، وزيرة خارجية جمهورية فنلندا، على هامش أعمال الدورة الحادية والثمانين للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في نيويورك.
بحث الجانبان سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية والتعاون المشترك ، كما يأتي هذا اللقاء في إطار العمل على تبادل الدعم لترشح ليبيا لمقعد غير دائم في مجلس الأمن 2028-2029 ، حيث أعلنت فنلندا سابقاً ترشحها لنفس الدورة عن المقعد الأوروبي. كما تطرق النقاش إلى آخر مستجدات الأوضاع في ليبيا والمنطقة، إلى جانب دعم المسار السياسي وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار، والتنسيق في إطار الأمم المتحدة بشأن القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
His Excellency Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today, Monday, 21 September 2026, with H.E. Ms. Elina Valtonen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance joint cooperation. The meeting also took place within the framework of efforts to exchange support for Libya’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028–2029 term, while Finland had previously announced its candidacy for the same term for the European seat.
The discussions also addressed the latest developments in Libya and the region, as well as support for the political process, the promotion of security and stability, and coordination within the framework of the United Nations on issues of common interest.
