استقبل فخامة السيد نزار محمد سعيد آميدي، رئيس جمهورية العراق، صباح اليوم الاثنين الموافق 24 أغسطس 2026، بالعاصمة العراقية بغداد، معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، وذلك بمناسبة انعقاد أعمال اجتماعات اللجنة الليبية-العراقية المشتركة، يومي 23 و24 أغسطس الجاري.
جرى خلال اللقاء بحث العلاقات الثنائية بين ليبيا والعراق، والتأكيد على أهمية الارتقاء بها إلى آفاق أوسع، بما يعزز المصالح المشتركة للبلدين والشعبين الشقيقين، إلى جانب استعراض عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وتبادل وجهات النظر بشأن التطورات السياسية الراهنة في المنطقة.
كما تناول اللقاء سبل تعزيز التنسيق والتشاور السياسي بين البلدين، ودعم الجهود الرامية إلى ترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة، فضلاً عن بحث آفاق التعاون في المجالات الأمنية، ومكافحة الجريمة المنظمة والإرهاب، وتعزيز التنسيق في مواجهة التحديات الأمنية المشتركة.
وتطرق الجانبان كذلك إلى أهمية تفعيل الأطر والآليات المشتركة للتعاون بين البلدين، ومتابعة تنفيذ ما يتم الاتفاق عليه، بما يسهم في توسيع مجالات التعاون السياسي والاقتصادي والأمني، ويفتح المجال أمام شراكات جديدة تخدم المصالح المشتركة.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Libya and Iraq, with an emphasis on the importance of elevating them to broader horizons in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples. The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common interest and exchanged views on current political developments in the region.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen political coordination and consultations between the two countries, support efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in the region, as well as prospects for cooperation in the security field, combating organized crime and terrorism, and enhancing coordination in addressing common security challenges.
The two sides further underscored the importance of activating the joint frameworks and mechanisms for cooperation between the two countries and following up on the implementation of agreements reached, in a manner that contributes to expanding political, economic, and security cooperation and opens the way for new partnerships that serve their common interests.
