في إطار الزيارة الرسمية التي يجريها معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، إلى جمهورية العراق، على رأس وفد ليبي للمشاركة في اجتماعات اللجنة الليبية-العراقية المشتركة التي تُعقد يومي 23 و24 أغسطس الجاري، بعد توقف دام نحو ربع قرن، استقبل معالي السيد فؤاد حسين، وزير خارجية جمهورية العراق، اليوم الأحد، 23 أغسطس 2026، معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، بمقر وزارة الخارجية العراقية في العاصمة بغداد.
وتناول اللقاء العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين وسبل تطويرها وتعزيزها في مختلف المجالات، إلى جانب بحث عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وتبادل وجهات النظر بشأنها.
وفي ختام اللقاء، عقد الجانبان مؤتمرا صحفيا مشتركا، استعرضا خلاله مستجدات العلاقات الليبية-العراقية، وسبل تعزيز التعاون الثنائي وتوسيع آفاقه في مختلف المجالات، إلى جانب تناول عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية، وتعزيز التعاون والتنسيق بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة ويدعم الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
As part of the official visit of H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to the Republic of Iraq, heading a Libyan delegation to participate in the meetings of the Libyan-Iraqi Joint Committee, being held on 23 and 24 August, after a hiatus of nearly a quarter of a century, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, received H.E. Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, today, Sunday, 23 August 2026, at the headquarters of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Baghdad.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop and strengthen them across various fields, in addition to addressing a number of regional and international issues of common interest and exchanging views on them.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides held a joint press conference, during which they reviewed the latest developments in Libyan-Iraqi relations and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and broaden its prospects across various fields. They also addressed a number of regional and international issues and enhancing cooperation and coordination in a manner that serves shared interests and supports security and stability in the region.
