استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الاربعاء الموافق 2026.07.08، وفد مكتب منظمة الصحة العالمية لدى دولة ليبيا، برئاسة الدكتور أحمد زويتن، ممثل منظمة الصحة العالمية ورئيس البعثة في ليبيا، بحضور السيد عبدالله حجاجي، رئيس قسم الوكالات والهيئات المتخصصة بإدارة المنظمات الدولية.
تناول الجانبان خلال اللقاء سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك بين وزارة الخارجية ومنظمة الصحة العالمية، ومواصلة التنسيق في تنفيذ البرامج الصحية ذات الأولوية، بما يسهم في دعم القطاع الصحي في ليبيا، وتعزيز قدراته على مواجهة التحديات الصحية.
كما بحث الجانبان آليات تطوير الشراكة في مجالات الرعاية الصحية الأولية، والاستجابة للطوارئ الصحية، وبناء القدرات، ودعم البرامج الوطنية، إلى جانب التأكيد على أهمية استمرار التشاور والتنسيق بين الجانبين بما يحقق الأهداف المشتركة ويعزز التعاون مع المنظمات الدولية المتخصصة.
وأكد معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور حرص وزارة الخارجية على تقديم التسهيلات اللازمة لدعم عمل منظمة الصحة العالمية في ليبيا، مشيدًا بالدور الذي تضطلع به المنظمة في مساندة القطاع الصحي الوطني.
من جانبه، أعرب الدكتور أحمد زويتن عن تقديره للتعاون القائم مع الوزارة، مؤكدًا التزام المنظمة بمواصلة دعمها لليبيا وتعزيز التعاون مع الجهات الوطنية لتحقيق أفضل النتائج في المجال الصحي.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office, headed by Dr. Ahmed Zouiten, (WHO) Representative and Head of Mission in Libya, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Hajjaji, Head of the Specialized Agencies and Organizations Section at the Department of International Organizations.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Health Organization, and to continue coordination in implementing priority health programs aimed at supporting Libya’s health sector and enhancing its capacity to address current and future health challenges.
The discussions also covered mechanisms for expanding cooperation in the areas of primary health care, emergency health response, capacity building, and support for national health programs. Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining close consultation and coordination to advance shared objectives and further strengthen cooperation with specialized international organizations.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing the necessary support and facilitation for the WHO’s work in Libya, commending the Organization’s significant role in supporting the country’s health sector.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Zouiten expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s continued cooperation and reaffirmed the WHO’s commitment to supporting Libya and deepening collaboration with national institutions to achieve better health outcomes.
