استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلّف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الخميس الموافق 2 يوليو 2026، السيد محمد فياضي، ممثل منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة (اليونيسف) لدى دولة ليبيا، بحضور السيد سفيان بالخير، مدير ادارة المنظمات الدولي، والسيد محمد طرينة، وزير مفوض بالإدارة.
بحث الجانبان سبل تعزيز التعاون بين دولة ليبيا ومنظمة اليونيسف، وآفاق تطوير الشراكة في المجالات ذات الأولوية، ولا سيما حماية الطفل، ودعم قطاعي التعليم والصحة، وتعزيز برامج الحماية الاجتماعية وبناء القدرات الوطنية، بما يواكب الأولويات الوطنية ويحقق أهداف التنمية المستدامة.
كما استعرض الجانبان البرامج والمشروعات التي تنفذها المنظمة في ليبيا، ومستوى التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ المبادرات المشتركة، إضافة إلى مناقشة فرص توسيع مجالات التعاون خلال المرحلة المقبلة، بما يعزز فعالية البرامج الإنسانية والتنموية ويضمن استدامة أثرها.
وتناول اللقاء كذلك مسألة ترشيح الممثل الجديد لمنظمة اليونيسف لدى ليبيا، حيث أحاط السيد محمد فياضي معالي الوزير بالإجراءات المتخذة في هذا الشأن، معربا عن تطلعه إلى استمرار التعاون والتنسيق الوثيق مع وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي خلال المرحلة الانتقالية، بما يضمن استمرارية تنفيذ برامج المنظمة دون انقطاع.
وفي ختام اللقاء، اتفق الجانبان على مواصلة التشاور والتنسيق، وتعزيز الشراكة بين الحكومة الليبية ومنظمة اليونيسف، وتطوير مجالات التعاون المستقبلية بما يخدم مصالح الجانبين، ويدعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى تحسين أوضاع الأطفال والأسر في مختلف أنحاء ليبيا.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Thursday, 2 July 2026, Mr. Mohamed Fayadi, Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Libya. The meeting was attended by Mr. Sufian Belkhair, Director of the Department of International Organizations, and Mr. Mohamed Traina, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Department.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the State of Libya and UNICEF and explored opportunities to expand their partnership in priority areas, particularly child protection, support for the education and health sectors, the strengthening of social protection programmes, and national capacity-building, in line with Libya’s national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The two sides also reviewed UNICEF’s ongoing programmes and projects in Libya, assessed the progress achieved in implementing joint initiatives, and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in the coming period in a manner that enhances the effectiveness and sustainability of humanitarian and development programmes.
The meeting also addressed the nomination of the new UNICEF Representative to Libya. Mr. Mohamed Fayadi briefed the Minister on the procedures undertaken in this regard and expressed his hope for continued close cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation during the transitional period, ensuring the uninterrupted implementation of UNICEF’s programmes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue close consultation and coordination, further strengthen the partnership between the Government of Libya and UNICEF, and expand future areas of cooperation in a manner that serves their shared interests and supports national efforts to improve the well-being of children and families throughout Libya.
