افتتح معالي السيد الطاهر سالم الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون الديوان بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، ومعالي السيد محمود علي يوسف، رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي، اليوم الخميس الموافق 1 أكتوبر 2026م، المقر المخصص للاتحاد الأفريقي بمدينة طرابلس.

وجرت مراسم الافتتاح بحضور وزير الدولة للشؤون الأفريقية بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، معالي السيد فتح الله الزني، والسيد عبد الحكيم محمد غيث، مدير إدارة الشؤون الإدارية والمالية، وعدد من أعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي المعتمدين لدى ليبيا، إلى جانب عدد من الشخصيات والمسؤولين والمعنيين بالشأن الأفريقي، ومديري الإدارات والمكاتب بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي.

ويأتي افتتاح المقر في إطار حرص حكومة الوحدة الوطنية على توطيد علاقات ليبيا مع الاتحاد الأفريقي، وتعزيز حضورها في محيطها القاري، من خلال توفير إطار مؤسسي يدعم التواصل المباشر مع مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي، ويسهم في متابعة القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وتنسيق البرامج والمبادرات ذات الصلة.

كما يمثل المقر خطوة داعمة لتعزيز انخراط ليبيا في العمل الأفريقي، وتيسير التعاون بين الجهات الليبية ومؤسسات الاتحاد الأفريقي، بما يفتح آفاقًا أوسع للمشاركة في البرامج والمبادرات القارية، ويعزز دور ليبيا ضمن فضائها الأفريقي.

وشهدت مراسم الافتتاح جولة داخل المقر، جرى خلالها الاطلاع على تجهيزاته ومختلف مرافقه، كما شملت الجولة مقر وكالة الاتحاد الأفريقي للتنمية (النيباد)، والتعرف على ما يضمه من إمكانات وتجهيزات، والتأكيد على أهمية دوره في تيسير التواصل والتنسيق بين ليبيا ومفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي.

H.E. Mr. El-Taher Salem El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, today, Thursday, 1 October 2026, inaugurated the premises designated for the African Union in Tripoli.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Fathallah Al-Zani, Minister of State for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Mr. Abdulhakim Mohamed Gheith, Director of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs; a number of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Libya; as well as a number of officials, figures and stakeholders concerned with African affairs, and directors of departments and offices at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The inauguration of the premises comes within the framework of the Government of National Unity’s commitment to strengthening Libya’s relations with the African Union and enhancing its presence within its continental environment, by providing an institutional framework that supports direct communication with the African Union Commission and contributes to following up on issues of common interest and coordinating relevant programmes and initiatives.

The premises also represent a step towards strengthening Libya’s engagement in African affairs and facilitating cooperation between Libyan authorities and African Union institutions, thereby opening broader avenues for participation in continental programmes and initiatives and enhancing Libya’s role within its African space.

The inauguration ceremony included a tour of the premises, during which the facilities and various sections were inspected. The tour also included the premises of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), where the participants were briefed on its facilities and capabilities and underscored the importance of its role in facilitating communication and coordination between Libya and the African Union Commission.
