استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الخميس الموافق 1 أكتوبر 2026، معالي السيد محمود علي يوسف، رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي، الذي يقوم بزيارة رسمية إلى دولة ليبيا، بحضور معالي السيد فتح الله الزني، وزير الدولة للشؤون الأفريقية بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي والسيد علاء الدين التاجوري مدير إدارة الشؤون الافريقية.
عقد الجانبان اجتماعاً تناول عدداً من الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وفي مقدمتها العلاقات بين دولة ليبيا والاتحاد الأفريقي، وسبل تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق في مختلف المجالات، بما يسهم في دعم العمل الأفريقي المشترك، وتعزيز دور ليبيا في إطار الاتحاد الأفريقي، إلى جانب تنسيق المواقف في المحافل الدولية متعددة الأطراف بشأن القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
كما بحث الجانبان مستجدات الأوضاع في القارة الأفريقية، وعدداً من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، إلى جانب التحضيرات الجارية لاستضافة دولة ليبيا اجتماع لجنة العشرة (C10) المعنية بإصلاح مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، المقرر عقده في العاصمة طرابلس يومي 10 و11 أكتوبر 2026.
وتناول اللقاء كذلك التحضيرات الجارية لاستضافة دولة ليبيا للقمة الأفريقية التركية الرابعة، المقرر عقدها في العاصمة طرابلس يومي 8 و9 ديسمبر 2026، وسبل تعزيز التنسيق مع مفوضية الاتحاد الأفريقي لإنجاح هذا الاستحقاق.
وأكد الجانبان أهمية مواصلة التشاور والتنسيق بشأن مختلف الملفات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، بما في ذلك تنسيق المواقف في المحافل الإقليمية والدولية متعددة الأطراف، بما يعزز الشراكة بين دولة ليبيا والاتحاد الأفريقي، ويدعم جهود القارة الأفريقية في الدفاع عن مصالحها وتعزيز حضورها على الساحة الدولية.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Thursday, 1 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, who is on an official visit to the State of Libya, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Fathallah Al-Zani, Minister of State for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Mr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Tajouri, Director of the African Affairs Department.
The two sides held a meeting during which they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the relations between the State of Libya and the African Union, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination across various fields in a manner that contributes to advancing joint African action and enhancing Libya’s role within the African Union, in addition to coordinating positions at multilateral international forums on issues of mutual interest.
The two sides also discussed developments in the African continent and a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, as well as the ongoing preparations for the State of Libya to host the meeting of the Committee of Ten (C10) on United Nations Security Council reform, scheduled to take place in Tripoli on 10 and 11 October 2026.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing preparations for the State of Libya to host the Fourth Africa-Türkiye Summit, scheduled to take place in Tripoli on 8 and 9 December 2026, and ways to enhance coordination with the African Union Commission to ensure the success of this important event.
The two sides underscored the importance of continuing consultations and coordination on various issues of mutual interest, including the coordination of positions in regional and international multilateral forums, in a manner that strengthens the partnership between the State of Libya and the African Union, and supports the efforts of the African continent to advance its interests and enhance its presence on the international stage.
