استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، صباح اليوم الأحد الموافق 13 سبتمبر 2026، بديوان الوزارة، سعادة السفير مارتن رينولدز، سفير المملكة المتحدة لدى دولة ليبيا، بحضور السيد أبوبكر الطويل، مدير إدارة الشؤون الأوروبية، والسيد مصطفي ابورخيص، رئيس قسم الغرب بالإدارة، والسيد حسن التومي مسؤول ملف العلاقات بين البلدين.
تناول اللقاء علاقات التعاون بين دولة ليبيا والمملكة المتحدة ، وسبل تعزيزها وتطويرها بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة.
كما تطرق اللقاء الي آفاق التعاون في مجال تبادل الخبرات وتعزيز التعاون الاكاديمي بين البلدين. بالإضافة الي العمل علي توقيع اتفاقيات تعاون بين المركز الثقافي البريطاني وبعض من الجامعات الليبية.
واكد الجانبان أهمية مواصلة التنسيق والتشاور وتعزيز قنوات التواصل بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة للبلدين الصديقين.
H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters, H.E. Ambassador Martin Reynolds, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya, in the presence of Mr. Abubaker Al-Tawel, Director of the European Affairs Department, Mr. Mustafa Abu Khreis, Head of the Western Section at the Department, and Mr. Hassan Al-Toumi, Officer in Charge of Bilateral Relations.
The meeting discussed cooperation relations between Libya and the United Kingdom, and ways to strengthen and develop them in a manner that serves the common interests.
The meeting also addressed prospects for cooperation in the field of exchanging expertise and enhancing academic cooperation between the two countries, in addition to working on signing cooperation agreements between the British Council and some Libyan universities.
The two sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation and strengthening channels of communication in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries.
