استقبل معالي السيد نبيل فهمي، أمين عام جامعة الدول العربية، اليوم الأحد الموافق 6 سبتمبر 2026، معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، وذلك في مستهل زيارته إلى العاصمة المصرية القاهرة، للمشاركة في أعمال الدورة العادية الـ166 لمجلس جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري، المقرر عقدها غداً الاثنين 7 سبتمبر 2026، بمقر الأمانة العامة للجامعة.
وفي مستهل اللقاء، رحب أمين عام جامعة الدول العربية بمعالي السيد الباعور، معرباً عن تقديره لمشاركة ليبيا في أعمال الدورة الوزارية، ومؤكداً أهمية مواصلة التنسيق والتشاور بين الدول العربية، وتعزيز العمل العربي المشترك في ظل التطورات والتحديات التي تشهدها المنطقة.
من جانبه، قدم معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور التهاني للسيد نبيل فهمي بمناسبة توليه مهامه أميناً عاماً لجامعة الدول العربية، متمنياً له التوفيق والنجاح في أداء مهامه، ومؤكداً دعم دولة ليبيا لجامعة الدول العربية وحرصها على تعزيز دورها في خدمة القضايا العربية، وتطوير آليات العمل العربي المشترك.
وتناول اللقاء عدداً من القضايا والموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وفي مقدمتها تطورات القضية الفلسطينية، ومستجدات الأوضاع في المنطقة العربية، إلى جانب سبل تعزيز التنسيق والتشاور بين ليبيا والأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية، بما يسهم في دعم القضايا العربية وتعزيز التضامن العربي
His Excellency Mr. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received today, Sunday, September 6, 2026, His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at the beginning of his visit to Cairo, Egypt, to participate in the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, scheduled to be held tomorrow, Monday, September 7, 2026, at the headquarters of the League’s General Secretariat.
At the outset of the meeting, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States welcomed H.E. Mr. El-Baour, expressing his appreciation for Libya’s participation in the ministerial session and emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and consultation among Arab countries, as well as strengthening joint Arab action in light of the developments and challenges facing the region.
For his part, H.E. Mr. El-Taher El-Baour conveyed his congratulations to Mr. Nabil Fahmy on assuming his duties as Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, wishing him success in carrying out his responsibilities. He also reaffirmed the State of Libya’s support for the League of Arab States and its commitment to strengthening its role in serving Arab causes and advancing mechanisms of joint Arab action.
The meeting addressed a number of issues and matters of common interest, foremost among them developments in the Palestinian cause and the latest developments in the Arab region, as well as ways to enhance coordination and consultation between Libya and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, in a manner that contributes to supporting Arab causes and strengthening Arab solidarity.
