تلقى معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، دعوة من معالي السيدة كايا كالاس، الممثلة العليا للاتحاد الأوروبي للشؤون الخارجية والسياسة الأمنية ونائبة رئيس المفوضية الأوروبية، للمشاركة في منتدى الاتحاد الأوروبي والمتوسط للسلام والأمن، المقرر عقده في 18 نوفمبر 2026 بالعاصمة البلجيكية بروكسل، بالتوازي مع منتدى شومان للأمن والدفاع.
ويهدف المنتدى إلى توفير منصة للحوار السياسي والأمني وتعزيز التنسيق بين دول ضفتي البحر الأبيض المتوسط بشأن التحديات المشتركة، ولا سيما الاستقرار الإقليمي، وإدارة الهجرة، والأمن البحري، وإدارة الحدود، وبناء القدرات ودعم الشركاء الإقليميين في مواجهة الأزمات والكوارث.
ويندرج المنتدى في إطار ميثاق المتوسط الذي أطلقه الاتحاد الأوروبي في أواخر عام 2025، بهدف تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق الأمني بين الجانبين الأوروبي والمتوسطي.
H.E. Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has received an invitation from H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, to participate in the EU-Mediterranean Forum on Peace and Security, scheduled to be held on 18 November 2026 in Brussels, Belgium, in parallel with the Schuman Security and Defence Forum.
The Forum aims to provide a platform for political and security dialogue and to enhance coordination between the countries on both shores of the Mediterranean on common challenges, particularly regional stability, migration management, maritime security, border management, capacity-building, and support for regional partners in addressing crises and disasters.
The Forum is being held within the framework of the Pact for the Mediterranean, launched by the European Union in late 2025, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and security coordination between the European and Mediterranean sides.
