استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، صباح اليوم الاربعاء الموافق 5 أغسطس 2026، بديوان الوزارة، سعادة السفير نيكولا أورلاند، سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي لدى دولة ليبيا، بحضور السيد أبوبكر الطويل، مدير إدارة الشؤون الأوروبية، والسيد مصعب حمزة، رئيس قسم الاتحاد الأوروبي بالإدارة.
تناول اللقاء علاقات التعاون بين دولة ليبيا والاتحاد الأوروبي، وسبل تعزيزها وتطويرها بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة.
كما اطلع معاليه السفير أورلاند على آخر مستجدات الأوضاع السياسية في ليبيا، والجهود المبذولة لتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار، ودفع العملية السياسية بما يحقق تطلعات الشعب الليبي.
ومن جانبه، جدد السفير أورلاند دعم الاتحاد الأوروبي للجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق الاستقرار في ليبيا، مؤكدا حرص الاتحاد على مواصلة التعاون مع ليبيا في مختلف المجالات.
وفي ختام اللقاء، اتفق الجانبان على أهمية مواصلة التشاور والتنسيق بشأن القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، بما يسهم في تعزيز الشراكة بين دولة ليبيا والاتحاد الأوروبي.
H.E. Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received this morning, Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters, H.E. Mr. Nicola Orlando, Ambassador of the European Union to the State of Libya, in the presence of Mr. Abubaker Al-Taweel, Director of the European Affairs Department, and Mr. Musab Hamza, Head of the European Union Section at the Department.
The meeting reviewed the cooperative relations between the State of Libya and the European Union and explored ways to further strengthen and develop them in a manner that serves their shared interests.
H.E. Mr. El-Baour also briefed Ambassador Orlando on the latest political developments in Libya, as well as the ongoing efforts to enhance security and stability and advance the political process in line with the aspirations of the Libyan people.
For his part, Ambassador Orlando reaffirmed the European Union’s support for efforts aimed at achieving stability in Libya, stressing the EU’s commitment to continuing cooperation with Libya across various fields.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest, in a manner that contributes to further strengthening the partnership between the State of Libya and the European Union.
