عقد معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، لقاءً مع معالي السيدة بيانكا أودوميجوو أوجوكو، وزيرة خارجية جمهورية نيجيريا الاتحادية، وذلك على هامش أعمال الدورة العادية التاسعة والأربعين للمجلس التنفيذي للاتحاد الإفريقي المنعقدة بالعاصمة الإثيوبية أديس أبابا يومي 28 و 29 يوليو 2026.
وشهد اللقاء استعراضاً لمسار العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، وسبل الارتقاء بها بما يحقق المصالح المشتركة، لاسيما في المجالات السياسية والاقتصادية، وتعزيز فرص التعاون والتبادل بين المؤسسات المعنية في البلدين.
كما ناقش الجانبان عدداً من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك على الساحة الإفريقية، وتبادلا وجهات النظر بشأن التحديات التي تواجه القارة، مؤكدين أهمية تكثيف التنسيق بين الدول الإفريقية لدعم جهود التنمية وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار.
وأعرب الطرفان عن تطلعهما إلى مواصلة التشاور والتعاون داخل أجهزة ومؤسسات الاتحاد الإفريقي، ومواجهة التحديات الإقليمية والدولية بروح من التضامن والشراكة الفاعلة، وثمن الجانبان اعادة افتتاح مقر تجمع دول الساحل والصحراء في العاصمة الليبية طرابلس الذي يسهم في تعزيز وترسيخ العمل الإفريقي المشترك.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a meeting with Her Excellency Mrs. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the sidelines of the 49th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 28–29 July 2026.
The meeting reviewed the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and explored ways to further strengthen them in a manner that serves their mutual interests, particularly in the political and economic fields, while enhancing opportunities for cooperation and exchange between the relevant institutions of both countries.
The two sides also discussed a number of issues of common interest on the African agenda and exchanged views on the challenges facing the continent. They stressed the importance of intensifying coordination among African states to support development efforts and promote peace, security, and stability.
Both parties expressed their aspiration to continue consultation and cooperation within the organs and institutions of the African Union and to address regional and international challenges through a spirit of solidarity and effective partnership.
In this context, the two sides welcomed the reopening of the headquarters of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, noting that this step would contribute to strengthening and consolidating joint African action and advancing regional cooperation among Member States.
