شارك معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، والوفد المرافق له، في مراسم افتتاح أعمال الدورة العادية التاسعة والأربعين للمجلس التنفيذي للاتحاد الإفريقي، التي انطلقت صباح اليوم الثلاثاء الموافق 28 يوليو 2026 بالعاصمة الإثيوبية أديس أبابا، بحضور وزراء خارجية الدول الأعضاء في الاتحاد الإفريقي وعدد من كبار المسؤولين وممثلي المنظمات الإقليمية والقارية.
وشملت الجلسة الافتتاحية كلمات رئيسية لكل من رئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الإفريقي، ووزير خارجية جمهورية إثيوبيا الفيدرالية الديمقراطية، ووزير خارجية جمهورية بوروندي بصفته رئيس المجلس التنفيذي للاتحاد الإفريقي.
وتنعقد الدورة تحت شعار (ضمان توافر المياه المستدامة وأنظمة الصرف الصحي الآمنة لتحقيق أهداف أجندة إفريقيا 2063)، حيث يركز المجلس التنفيذي خلال اجتماعاته على مناقشة القضايا المرتبطة بالأمن المائي، وتحسين خدمات الصرف الصحي، وتعزيز الصحة العامة، ومواجهة تداعيات التغير المناخي، إلى جانب سبل تعزيز التعاون والتكامل بين الدول الإفريقية لتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة وأولويات أجندة الاتحاد الإفريقي 2063.
كما يبحث المجلس عددا من القضايا الاستراتيجية المدرجة على جدول الأعمال، أبرزها:
– مناقشة تقرير اللجنة المعنية بمتابعة تنفيذ أجندة إفريقيا 2063.
– مناقشة تقرير اللجنة المعنية بتسريع التصديق على معاهدات منظمة الوحدة الإفريقية والاتحاد الإفريقي وتنفيذها.
– استعراض تقرير التقدم المحرز بشأن تنفيذ موضوع الاتحاد الإفريقي لعام 2026 وتقييم مستوى الإنجاز المحقق في هذا الإطار.
وتأتي مشاركة دولة ليبيا في هذه الدورة تأكيدا على التزامها بدعم مسيرة العمل الإفريقي المشترك، وتعزيز التعاون والتنسيق مع الدول الأعضاء لمواجهة التحديات المشتركة وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة لشعوب القارة الإفريقية.
H.E. Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with the accompanying delegation, participated in the opening ceremony of the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, which commenced on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the attendance of the Foreign Ministers of AU Member States, senior officials, and representatives of regional and continental organizations.
The opening session featured keynote statements delivered by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Burundi in his capacity as Chairperson of the Executive Council of the African Union.
The session is being held under the theme: “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.” Discussions within the Executive Council focus on issues related to water security, improving sanitation services, promoting public health, addressing the impacts of climate change, and enhancing cooperation and integration among African countries to advance sustainable development and the priorities of the African Union Agenda 2063.
The Council is also considering a number of strategic issues on its agenda, most notably:
– Deliberation on the report of the Committee on the implementation of Agenda 2063.
– Deliberation on the report of the Committee on the acceleration of ratification and implementation of OAU/AU treaties.
– Review of the progress report on the implementation of the African Union’s 2026 Theme of the Year and assessment of achievements made in this regard.
Libya’s participation in this session reaffirms its commitment to supporting African joint action and strengthening cooperation and coordination with Member States in addressing common challenges and achieving sustainable development for the peoples of the African continent.
