عقد معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، صباح اليوم الاثنين الموافق 27 يوليو 2026، اجتماعا ثنائيا مع معالي الدكتور فينيو بوتالي، وزير خارجية جمهورية بوتسوانا، ورئيس لجنة الترشيحات الافريقية في المنظومة الدولية، التي تتمتع دولة ليبيا بعضويتها، وذلك على هامش مشاركته في أعمال الدورة التاسعة والأربعين للمجلس التنفيذي للاتحاد الإفريقي، المنعقدة بالعاصمة الإثيوبية أديس أبابا، وذلك بحضور السيد علاء الدين التاجوري، مدير إدارة الشؤون الأفريقية،
وسعادة السيد محمد آدم لينو، المندوب الدائم لدولة ليبيا لدى الاتحاد الأفريقي، وسعادة السفير طاهر السني، مندوب دولة ليبيا الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة بنيويورك.
تناول اللقاء سبل تعزيز علاقات التعاون الثنائي بين دولة ليبيا وجمهورية بوتسوانا، وبحث آفاق تطويرها في مختلف المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، بما يسهم في خدمة مصالح البلدين والشعبين الصديقين.
كما تبادل الجانبان وجهات النظر حول عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والقارية المطروحة على جدول أعمال الاتحاد الإفريقي، مؤكدين أهمية تعزيز التنسيق والتشاور المشترك داخل الأطر الإفريقية بما يدعم جهود السلم والاستقرار والتنمية في القارة.
His Excellency Mr. El- Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a bilateral meeting on Monday morning, 27 July 2026, with H.E. Dr. Phenyo Butale, Minister of International Relations of the Republic of Botswana, chairperson of the African Union Committee on African Candidatures within the International System, on which the State of Libya serves as a member, on the sidelines of his participation in the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The meeting was attended by Mr. Alaaeddin Al-Tajouri, Director of the African Affairs Department; H.E. Mr. Mohamed Adam Lino, Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the African Union; and H.E. Ambassador Taher El-Sonni, Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the United Nations in New York.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the State of Libya and the Republic of Botswana and explored prospects for expanding collaboration across various fields of mutual interest, in a manner that serves the interests of both friendly countries and peoples.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and continental issues on the agenda of the African Union, emphasizing the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation within African frameworks in support of peace, stability, and sustainable development acro ss the continent.
