استقبل معالي وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي المكلف، السيد الطاهر الباعور، اليوم الخميس الموافق 9 يوليو 2026، بديوان الوزارة، سعادة سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي لدى دولة ليبيا، السيد نيكولا أورلاندو، بحضور السيد أبوبكر الطويل، مدير إدارة الشؤون الأوروبية، والسيد مصعب حمزة، رئيس قسم الاتحاد الأوروبي بالإدارة.
تناول اللقاء سبل تعزيز التعاون بين دولة ليبيا والاتحاد الأوروبي في عدد من المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، بما يسهم في دعم جهود التنمية والاستقرار، وتعزيز الشراكة القائمة بين الجانبين، إلى جانب تبادل وجهات النظر بشأن عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
حيث بحث الجانبان عددا من الملفات الفنية، وفي مقدمتها برامج تبادل الطلبة والمنح الدراسية للباحثين في المؤسسات الليبية، بما يدعم تطوير الأداء المؤسسي في عدد من القطاعات الحيوية.
كما تطرق اللقاء إلى ملف رفع القيود المفروضة على الطيران المدني الليبي في الأجواء الأوروبية بما يسهم في إعادة ربط ليبيا بشبكة النقل الجوي الأوروبية، لا سيما مع قرب افتتاح مطار طرابلس الدولي، وحث الاتحاد الأوروبي لرفع الحظر الذي من شأنه تسهيل عودة شركات الطيران الأوروبية من تسيير رحالاتها الى ليبيا.
وفي الختام أكد الجانبان أهمية مواصلة التنسيق والتشاور، وتعزيز التعاون المشترك بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة، ويسهم في دعم الاستقرار، ودفع مسيرة التنمية، وتطوير القطاعات الحيوية في ليبيا.
The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, received Mr. Nicola Orlando, the European Union Ambassador to Libya, on Thursday, 9 July 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by Mr. Abu Bakar Al-Tawil, Director of the European Affairs Department, and Mr. Musab Hamza, Head of the European Union Section at the department.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the State of Libya and the European Union in a number of areas of mutual interest, contributing to efforts to promote development and stability, enhance the existing partnership between the two sides, and exchange views on a range of regional and international issues of common concern.
The two sides also discussed a number of technical issues, particularly student exchange programs and scholarship opportunities for researchers at Libyan institutions, with the aim of supporting institutional development and improving performance across several key sectors.
The meeting further addressed the issue of lifting the restrictions imposed on Libyan civil aviation in European airspace, which would help reconnect Libya to the European air transport network, especially with the upcoming opening of Tripoli International Airport. The Libyan side urged the European Union to lift the ban in order to facilitate the resumption of flights by European airlines to Libya.
In conclusion, both sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation and of strengthening joint cooperation in ways that serve mutual interests, support stability, advance development efforts, and contribute to the growth of Libya’s vital sectors.
