استقبل معالي السيد الطاهر الباعور، المكلف بتسيير شؤون وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي، اليوم الأحد الموافق 28 يونيو 2026، بديوان الوزارة، الممثلة الخاصة للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لدى ليبيا، السيدة هانا تيتة، ونائبتها السيدة ستيفاني خوري.
وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث مستجدات العملية السياسية في ليبيا، والجهود التي تبذلها بعثة الأمم المتحدة للدعم في ليبيا للدفع بالعملية السياسية نحو تحقيق تسوية شاملة تفضي إلى ترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار في البلاد.
وقدمت الممثلة الخاصة، خلال اللقاء، إحاطة لمعالي السيد الباعور حول نتائج مشاوراتها ولقاءاتها الأخيرة مع عدد من الأطراف الليبية والدولية، في إطار جهود البعثة الرامية إلى دعم العملية السياسية، وتعزيز فرص التوافق الوطني، وتقريب وجهات النظر بين مختلف الأطراف.
من جانبه، أكد معالي السيد الباعور دعم حكومة الوحدة الوطنية الكامل لجهود ومهام بعثة الأمم المتحدة، مشددا على أهمية مواصلة التعاون والتنسيق مع الأمم المتحدة بما يسهم في إنجاح العملية السياسية، وتحقيق التوافق الوطني، وتجاوز التحديات الراهنة، ودعم مسار التنمية المستدامة، وترسيخ دعائم الأمن والاستقرار في ليبيا.
كما أكد معاليه أن الحل للأزمة الليبية يجب أن يكون نابعا من إرادة الليبيين، وبما يحفظ سيادة الدولة ووحدتها، مع ضرورة الحد من التدخلات الخارجية التي تعيق مسار التسوية السياسية.
وشدد السيد الباعور على أهمية دعم جهود حكومة الوحدة الوطنية لإنهاء المراحل الانتقالية، والعمل على تهيئة الظروف المناسبة لإجراء انتخابات برلمانية ورئاسية حرة ونزيهة في أقرب الآجال، بما يلبي تطلعات الشعب الليبي، ويؤسس لمرحلة من الاستقرار السياسي والتنمية المستدامة.
His Excellency Mr. El-Taher El-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Sunday, 28 June 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Libya, Ms. Hanna Tetteh, accompanied by her Deputy, Ms. Stephanie Koury.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in Libya’s political process and discussed the efforts undertaken by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to advance the political process toward a comprehensive settlement that would foster lasting peace, security, and stability in the country.
The Special Representative briefed Minister El-Baour on the outcomes of her recent consultations and meetings with a number of Libyan and international stakeholders, conducted as part of the Mission’s efforts to support the political process, promote national consensus, and bridge differences among the various parties.
For his part, Minister El-Baour reaffirmed the Government of National Unity’s full support for the efforts and mandate of the United Nations Mission, stressing the importance of maintaining close cooperation and coordination with the United Nations in order to ensure the success of the political process, achieve national consensus, overcome the current challenges, support the path toward sustainable development, and consolidate the foundations of peace, security, and stability in Libya.
He further emphasized that the solution to the Libyan crisis must be Libyan-led and Libyan-owned, reflecting the will of the Libyan people, safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and unity, and limiting external interference that hinders the political settlement process.
Minister El-Baour also underscored the importance of supporting the Government of National Unity’s efforts to bring the transitional phases to an end and to create the appropriate conditions for holding free, fair, and credible parliamentary and presidential elections at the earliest possible opportunity, in a manner that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people and lays the foundation for a new phase of political stability and sustainable development.
